A local tree service, biochemistry company, and property owner have been combining their efforts to keep a giant heritage oak tree alive and healthy on the northern edge of downtown Morgan Hill.
In an effort to save a historic 150-year-old heritage oak, a local tree service company began applying a fertilizer made by Anaerobe Systems to improve the oak’s health. The fertilizer, known as FermeCHAR, is produced by fermenting agriculture residues with two nitrogen-fixing microbes, which provide a measured amount of nitrogen fertilizer to the tree.
